More From The Kete Files

Wellington. April 2009. Ajr
I love traditional and contemporary kete (baskets).
Maybe it's a female thing, or some innate domestic urge...I'm not sure and does it even matter?
I think they're all beautiful and I'd love to start collecting them - if I had the time, the money and the space. As I'm already a compulsive collector of far too many things, I am limiting my kete collection to the photographic form.

  1. Dear Adrienne, I love your blog. I grew up in New Zealand, and return when I can. I'm interested in plants and would like to use some of your Kete pictures. Phormium is a very popular garden plant in Britain, and I'm doing a talk to a flower arrangers group. I thought the idea of weaving from phormium and using it in flower arrangements might interest them. There are so many colour variations now that there would be something new and exciting in using it, as well as the link with the past. Many best wishes to you, and thank you for such a lovely site. Regards, Victoria

  2. Hi Victoria,

Many thanks for your encouraging comments about Maori Lifestyles. I'm so glad you enjoy it. However, as is stated on the Home Page,my photographs are copyrighted and should not be downloaded. I'm more than happy for you to point your floral arrangers in the direction of my blog, so they can view images here, but I would rather they not be downloaded. This site is tracked to monitor downloading. If you would like to discuss further, please email me in person directly via the email address in my profile section. Many thanks Adrienne
